HANOI (30 Nov 2009) – The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) through a sponsorship deal with the Global Audiovisual Joint Stock Company (AVG) have decided to offer USD200,000 to the men’s Under-23 team and USD110,000 to the women’s team should they land the gold medal at the SEA Games in Laos next month.
The 25th edition of the SEA Games will be held in Laos on 9-18 December 2009. Under the contract, AVG will award USD200,000 to the U23 men’s team should they win the championship gold medal and USD100,000 for the silver. The women’s team in the meantime, will receive VND 2 billion (USD110,000) if they win the title and VND 1 billion (USD55,000) if they grab the silver medal. And just to put things in perspective, AVG presented VND 1 billion (USD55,000) to the U23 team and VND 500 million (USD 27,000) to the women’s squad in the hope that they will give their best to the biennial championship. The men’s U23 team had already arrived in Laos’ capital city of Vientiane while the women’s team will depart on 2 December 2009. |
