JAKARTA (18 Feb 2009) – The Indonesian FA (PSSI) have decided to hire an Uruguayan to coach the national Under-23 squad for the SEA Games which will be held in Laos at the end of the year.
And while the identity of the man from South America has yet to be identified, the Indonesia National Team Management have announced the route they will be taking to put up a strong challenge for the SEA Games which has been slated for 9-18 Dec 2009. Chairman for Indonesia National Team Management Rahim Soekasah said that since the Indonesia national U16 squad are being guided by Uruguayan coach Cesar, the course which have been selected for the U23 team is only natural. For the moment, the names of 30 young players have already been identified and where they will be trimmed to 22 players following a selection process next month. The selected players will then undergo training in Uruguay. Indonesia’s best achievement at the biennial games was in 1991 when they won the gold. |
