| HUE (25 Sept 2008) – Thailand came back from behind to beat hosts Vietnam 2-1 to take Group A of the 2nd International Under-21 Thanh Nien Cup 2008 at Tu Do Stadium.
Buoyed by the vociferous crowd in this central town of Hue, the young Vietnamese players started strongly and it took them only eight minutes to go in front when striker Duc Thien slammed home.
However, with just seconds remaining to the break, Thailand got the equaliser they were looking for off Yodrak Namueangrak.
The Thais were a lot more brazen in the second half and they duly scored the winner from Norawich Kaikaew from close range.
With the win, Thailand will take on Singapore – who beat Myanmar 1-0 to finish runner-up in Group B – while Vietnam will take on Group B winner Iran in the crossover semi-finals.
