CHIANGMAI (12 December 2025) – Indonesia narrowly missed the final slot to the semifinals of the SEA Games 2025 even though they had beaten Myanmar 3-1 in the final Group C tie tonight at the 700th Anniversary Stadium.
Needing to win by three clear goals to make the next round, Indonesia did not have the best of start when they found themselves trailing just before the half-hour mark when Min Maw Oo struck home.
Even though Indonesia managed to pull level in the 45th minute through Toni Firmansyah, it put them under immense pressure going into the second half.
With Myanmar fending off much of the onslaught, Indonesia finally managed to get the breakthrough right at the end with a double from Bali United striker Jens Raven (89th and 90th+5).
However, the win was not enough to give Indonesia their progress to the semifinals as nemesis Malaysia scraped through on goals scored after both teams were tied on points and also goal difference.
The semifinals will be played on 15 December 2025, with Vietnam taking on the Philippines while host Thailand will face Malaysia.
All matches will be played at the Rajamangala Stadium.
