BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (5 Dec 2011) – The National Football Association Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) kick off the new DST National Football League 2011/2012 this week in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Sufri Bolkiah, the Honorary President of the association.
The newly reformatted league will see 32 teams battling it out in the preliminary round to win the only 14 places available for the Super League.
The 32 teams from all over Brunei have been placed in four groups with the top two teams and two best third-placed teams winning tickets to the Super League.
Others in attendance during the opening ceremony was the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hazair, Commissioner of Police of the Royal Brunei Police Force, Pehin Orang Kaya Pendikar Alam Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Hasrin, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Ahminuddin Ihsan and other distinguished guests.
