BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (29 Feb 2012) – Myanmar took the lead in Group A of the Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy 2012 after picking up their second win from two matches – this time demolishing former champions Indonesia 3-1 in the game that was played at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
Despite taking the lead off Andik Vermansyah in the 19th minute, the Indonesians just could not maintain their composure in the second half when Kyaw Zayar Win slammed the equaliser just a minute into the restart.
SEA Games striker Kyaw Ko Ko then grabbed a brace with goals in the 58th and 65th minute. With the second full points, Myanmar are at the top of Group A with six points.
On the other hand at the Berakas Sports Complex, Laos kept up the pressure on the leaders with a 2-0 win over Singapore. The game was even up until the start of the second half when Laos turned on the power for Soukaphone Vongchiengkham to score the lead in the 48th minute.
Sitthideth Khanthavong then nailed the second goal for Laos in the 69th minute to give them their second win in three matches.
