| SINGAPORE (Nov 5, 2007) – Bosnian-born forward Aleksandar Duric has been named as part of the Singapore squad which will play Tajikistan in the second round of the 2010 World Cup qualifiers next week.
Singapore will take on Tajikistan in the first leg match, second round match of the FIFA World Cup 2010 Asian Zone Qualifying Tournament on Nov 9, 2007 at the National Stadium in Singapore before the return tie a week later.
“I am happy to see (Aleksandar) Duric in training today, I think he brings quality into the team and now we must work on how we can use that quality,” said Singapore head coach Radojko Avramovic.
“The first training session is always important because it gives me the chance to see the players again after they have been away with their clubs.
“The matches against Tajikistan will be tough and I am looking at it as two 45-minute halves. The first half will be here next Friday and the second half is the match away in Tajikistan.”
Duric is the current leading top scorer in the S-League with 37 goals for his club SAFFC.
