BANGKOK (5 Dec 2011) – Buriam PEA put the disappointment of last week’s stalemate behind them when they blasted SCG Samut Songkhram FC 3-0 at home at the I-Mobile Stadium to inch to their first ever Thai Premier League crown.
They are now 14 points in front of second placed Muang Thong United who still have two games in hand.
With just six more matches to play for, the hosts were all fired up against Samut with Suchao Nutnum, Rangsan Vivatchaichok and Franck Ohandza in the attack. But Samut was resolute in defence for the score to stand scoreless at the half.
But some sustained pressure afterwards, Buriram finally broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute off a penalty conversion from Suchao after fouled Rangsan Vivatchaichok was fouled by Ekachai Preechakul inside the box.
Suchao was again on target four minutes to the end before Ekwalla Herman made it a comfortable afternoon with the third goal right at the end.
Elsewhere, Pattaya United defeated Khon Kaen FC 3-0 at the Chonburi Physical Education Stadium off goals from Krissana Taiwan and a brace from Ludovick Takam.
At the Saraburi Stadium, Osotspa M-150 Saraburi edged Si Sa Ket FC 2-1 while Thai Port FC struggled to a 1-1 draw against Chiang Rai United at the PAT Stadium while at the Phichit Stadium, homesters TTM Phichit fell to a 2-1 loss to Siam Navy.
