BANGKOK (17 Nov 2012) – As Indonesia battled to a scoreless draw against the Cameroon Under-23 team in Jakarta, Thailand scored another 5-0 victory – this time dispatching Bangladesh at the Thai-Japanese Stadium tonight.
The Thais had demolished Bhutan with the same score line in their previous friendly three days ago at the same venue.
Striker Teerasil Dangda (pix) was on fire with a hat-trick off goals in the 12th, 20th and 52nd minute after Pichitpong Choeichiu had put the hosts in front early in the 5th minute.
Naphat Tamrongsupakorn then rounded off another fine evening for Winfried Schaefer’s men with the fifth goal of the game in the 74th minute.
In the meantime, Indonesia had the excellent work of goalkeeper Endra Prasetya to thank for their drawn game against the young Cameroon side at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta.
“I was substituted after a heavy clash with a player from Cameroon,” said the 31-year-old Endra. “But I’m okay although I was advised to rest for a few days.
“The draw has definitely given us confidence for the AFF Suzuki Cup 2012.”
