HO CHI MINH CITY (9 June 2025) – The Vietnam Under-19 Girls’ national team started on the right note in their Group A campaign of the ASEAN U19 Girls’ Championship at the Thong Nhat Stadium.
The host scored a 2-0 win over Myanmar with goals coming off Thi Thuy Linh Nguyen in the 35th minute and Thi Thanh Hieu Ngan in the 40th minute.
In the other Group A match, Laos edged Timor Leste 2-0 with Anna Keo Onsy scoring a brace (19th and 85th minute).
Over in Group B, Thailand crushed Indonesia 6-1 while Malaysia outplayed Cambodia 4-0.
The Thais were 3-0 in front at the half through Ruttawalin Intabumrung (in the seventh minute), Kurisara Limpawanich (16th) and Manita Noyvach (25th).
They then added three more goals after the break, off Prichakorn Kruechuenchom (65th), Phatcharaphorn Khuchuea (70th) and Rasita Taobao (77th) before Nasywa Zetira Rambe replied for Indonesia in injury time (90th+4).
On the other hand, the Malaysian girls rode on the brace each from Kaseh Carlmila Az Zahra (39th and 70th) and Ku Nuwairah Ku Mahadzir (14th and 49th) for their 4-0 win over Cambodia.
