BANGKOK (24 December 2025) – Vietnam started their campaign in the ASEAN Under-16 Boys’ Futsal Championship 2025 on the right note when they held Indonesia to a 2-2 draw at the Nonthaburi Hall in Bangkok.
Indonesia, who were hoping to pick up their second full points after beating Myanmar in their opening game yesterday, would find Vietnam a harder nut to crack.
Even though Indonesia managed to control much of the game at the start and had taken the lead twice in either half through Muh Alfayyadh Rafarrel Haerul (14th and 27th minute), lapses in concentration cost them the game in the end.
Vietnam remained resilient with a two-minute blitz from Nguyen Ba Manh (29th minute) and Nguyen Trung Duc (31st) to draw the match for their first point of the competition.
In the meantime, host Thailand made it two wins from two matches played when they smashed Myanmar 4-0.
Sriraksa Ratthawit prised open the lead after ten minutes as Phuwipadawat Thanawat then added the second goal six minutes later.
Two more goals in the second half through Srijuy Achita in the 28th minute and another from Petchtiam Boonyarit (40th) ensured Thailand another full points.
