SINGAPORE (6 February 2026) – Brazilian forward Patrick hit a brace to steer PKR Svay Rieng FC to a 2-0 win over Lion City Sailors FC in the ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup™ Group B last night.
After a goalless first half at Jalan Besar Stadium, the 27-year-old struck in the 51st and 64th minute to secure all three points for the visitors, who now sit in third place in the group with seven points and one game remaining.
Patrick’s fine display raised his tally to four goals in the tournament, with the Matt McConkey-led Svay Rieng side still to face Bangkok United FC in a rescheduled match.
Svay Rieng threatened early on, a header by Kwame Peprah lacking the desired power to trouble Lion City Sailors goalkeeper Ivan Sušak.
Although the Cambodian side dictated much of the play, the home team had the better of the chances in the opening 45 minutes.
Forward Shawal Anuar tested Vireak Dara in the Svay Rieng goal with a low strike in the 12th minute while Brazilian striker Anderson Lopes forced Vireak into another good save after being fed by Tsiy-William Ndenge in the 33rd minute.
Just before half-time, the Singapore Premier League winners and recent Singapore Cup champions threatened again, with Lopes going close with a powerful strike from inside the box that required an alert Vireak to quell the danger.
Svay Rieng came out charging for the second half, Tiago Alves producing a gallant run at the Lion City Sailors’ defence but the Portuguese forward could not keep his subsequent shot on target.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 51st minute. A cross from Scottish midfielder Connor Shields was not cleared by the home defence and the unmarked Patrick gleefully slammed a powerful right-footed shot into the roof of the Lion City Sailors net.
Thirteen minutes later, Patrick was on target again, this time jinking past two defenders in the box before thumping home a low shot which deflected off Lionel Tan for Svay Rieng’s second of the night.
