
SAMUT PRAKAN (13 December 2025) – Indonesia and the Philippines bounced back to pick up their first win in their respective groups of the Women’s Futsal event at the SEA Games 2025.
In the round of matches at the Bangkok Thonburi University Gymnasium today, Indonesia whitewashed Myanmar 4-0 in Group B, while the Philippines overcame Malaysia 3-1 in Group A.
Following their loss to Vietnam in the first game of the group yesterday, Indonesia were more aggressive in their game today against a resolute Myanmar side that defended in numbers to frustrate their opponents for much of the first half.
However, Indonesia still managed to find the back of the net through Fitri Rosdiana in the 18th minute before Rusdiana Nisma Francida added the second goal just a minute later.
Indonesia would end the first half 3-0 in front with an Ikeu Rosita finish.
Ikeu would then add her second and Indonesia’s fourth in the 24th minute when her drive came off Myanmar defender Phu Pwint Khang and into the goal.
In the meantime, the Philippines put their big defeat to host Thailand yesterday behind them by beating Malaysia 3-1.
The Philippines took a 2-0 lead in a two-minute blitz through Dionesa Tolentin in the fourth minute and Marie Bandoja two minutes later.
And even though Malaysia managed to narrow the gap with a Farahiyah Ridzuan’s finish in the 19th minute, the Philippines made sure of the win with a Maria Mendano’s effort just before the break.
