
CHONBURI (17 December 2025) – The Philippines beat Vietnam 6-5 in the penalty shootouts to lift their first-ever Women’s Football title at the SEA Games that was played earlier this evening at the Chonburi Stadium.
With the match tied scoreless at the end of extra-time, the Philippines emerged victorious in the lottery of the penalty shootouts 6-5 to deny Vietnam their fifth straight Women’s Football title since 2017.
After five goals each, Jaclyn Sawicki was on point with the sixth attempt for the Philippines as Trần Thị Thu failed to deliver for Vietnam.
In the meantime, host Thailand salvaged the consolation bronze medal with a 2-0 victory over Indonesia.
Pitsamai Sornsai gave Thailand the lead after seventeen minutes as Pattaranan Aupachai then added the second goal in the 43rd minute.
