MANILA (28 November 2025) – Philippines and Thailand have bowed out of the ongoing FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup 2025 at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
At the end of the preliminary round, the Philippines conceded a 5-1 loss to Group A winners Argentina yesterday, while Thailand were outplayed 4-1 by Colombia in Group B earlier today.
Argentina underlined their title ambition when they scored all five goals in the first seven minutes of the game – Lara Villalba (second minute), Mailén Romero (fourth minute), Luciana Natta (fourth minute), Agostina Chiesa (seventh minute), and Melina Quevedo (seventh minute).
The Philippines scored their only goal of the game through Isabella Bandoja in the 28th minute, finishing in fourth in Group A.
In the meantime, Thailand went down 4-1 in their final Group B game to Colombia, who confirmed their slot to the quarterfinals as the runners-up behind leaders Spain.
Diana Celis gave Colombia the lead after four minutes and Merlin Salcedo then added the second goal in the eighth minute.
The score was pegged at 2-1 to Colombia at the break when Thailand narrowed the gap with Arriya Saetoen’s 11th minute effort.
However, Salcedo would add her second and Colombia’s third in the 23rd minute before Danna Rodríguez finished things off in the 35th minute.
The loss meant that Thailand finished their Group B campaign on third.
