HANOI (29 March 2013) – Chen Yun Fat and Michael Weiss have been offered new contracts for the achievements that they have brought to Vietnam and the Philippines respectively.
Yun Fat (pix), who guided Vietnam to the AFF Women’s Championship last year, has been offered a new 18-month contract by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).
The former Dalian coach has been set the target of defending the women’s football gold medal at the 27th SEA Games and winning a ticke to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 via the AFC Asian Women’s Football Championship 2014.
In the meantime, Weiss is likely to be offered a new contract until the first quarter of 2014 after leading the team to the final round of the AFC Challenge Cup next year. The German had signed a six-months extension just last month.
“In his contract, it actually states that if he gets us through the qualifiers, then he will have the privilege to coach the team in the final round,” said Dan Palami, the team manager of the Philippines.
“So barring any unforeseen events, then he will be there in 2014.”
