YANGON (2 December 2025) – After a hiatus of close to 20 years, Myanmar have made a return to the 2026 AFC Under-17 Asian Cup alongside four other teams from the AFF.
Myanmar will join Asia’s elite in the youth competition after winning Group G with ten points, just a point ahead of Oman, which they secured after their 2-2 draw against Syria in the final game of the group.
Indonesia had already confirmed their slot to the 2026 AFC U17 Asian Cup by virtue of being the quarterfinalists at the 2025 edition.
Thailand took top spot in a keenly-contested Group F after finishing on the same nine points with Turkmenistan and Kuwait.
Australia were clear winners in Group E as Vietnam thumped Malaysia 4-0 in their final tie to take Group D.
The official draw is scheduled for 12 February 2026 with the main event set for 7-24 May 2026.
