CHONBURI (9 August 2025) – A late penalty from Khun Kyaw Zin Hein gave Myanmar’s Shan United a crucial 2-1 win over Ezra FC from Laos in the first leg, qualifying round playoffs of the ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup 2025/26.
Following a first-half deadlock at the Chonburi Stadium in Thailand, it was the visiting Shan United side that went ahead in the 52nd minute through Efrain Rintaro.
Even though Ezra managed to draw level with an Anantaza Siphongphan’s penalty in the 63rd minute, Shan United’s persistence paid off eight minutes to the end when Zin Hein fired in the late penalty for the well-deserved win.
The return tie will be played on 15 August 2025 at the Thuwanna Stadium in Myanmar.
