BURIRAM (23 May 2025) – On a memorable night for Buriram United FC on Wednesday, two of their leading players – Lucas Crispim and Chatchai Bootprom – received individual awards after they played key roles in the Thai club’s dramatic victory over Công An Hà Nôi FC of Vietnam in the ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup™ final.
The winner of the competition’s biggest individual player award was Lucas Crispim who was named Shopee Star of the Season for his excellent form throughout Buriram United’s team’s title-winning campaign. The Brazilian attacking midfielder was twice named as the Shopee Star of the Match during the tournament after he scored a hat-trick against Kaya FC-Iloilo of the Philippines and got the only goal in a crucial victory over Kuala Lumpur FC of Malaysia during the group stage.
Crispim also fired home a free-kick against Công An Hà Nôi with the last kick of regulation time in the final, which sent the match into extra-time. That strike meant that he also shared the top scorer award with his Brazilian compatriot Leo Artur of Công An Hà Nôi after both players scored six goals each in the tournament.
“I am very happy with these achievements. To be the top scorer of the tournament and to also win the Shopee Player of the Season is a great honour for me,” said the 30-year-old.
“It was the first time in my career that I have experienced such a big moment and I’m so proud, because we are now the first team to win this tournament and to become ASEAN Club Champions.”
While Crispim was Buriram’s saviour in regulation time, veteran goalkeeper Chatchai was their hero in the penalty shoot-out as he saved three spot-kicks to secure their Shopee Cup™ victory. The 38-year-old was named as the Shopee Star of the Match for his shoot-out heroics in the final and he was also awarded the tournament’s Best Goalkeeper award after keeping four clean sheets in seven games.
Rounding off the individual award winners was BG Pathum United FC forward Ilhan Fandi who won the adidas Rising Star award as the tournament’s best young player. The 22-year-old Singapore international played a big role in BG Pathum United’s run to the semi-finals, as he scored two goals in five games for the Thai club.
