KUALA LUMPUR (25 Nov 2012) – It was all even 2-2 between Indonesia and Laos as each team was reduced to ten men in an ill-tempered tie of Group B of the AFF Suzuki Cup here at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.
In the first ten minutes alone, Indonesia carved out several goal scoring opportunities through the hardwork of Andik Vermansyah but unfortunately Irfan Bachdim seems to have left his scoring boots at home as he failed to beat Laos keeper Sengphachan Bounthisanh.
With Bambang Pamungkas unable to do any better, Laos seemed content to sit back and look for the spaces to go forward. In the 28th minute, Indonesian keeper Endra Prasetya was red carded for a mis-timed clash inside the box for a penalty that was converted by Khampheng Sayavutthi.
But Laos was soon left with ten men when Sopha Sophana was shown the red card as both teams were left to continue the fight with just ten men. With a minute remaining of the first half, Raphael Maitimo headed in the equaliser for both teams to be on level terms.
The second half continued much in the same vein as did the first with Tonnie Cusell and then Wahyu Wijiastanto picking up on the cards alongside Laos’ Keoviengpheth Lithideth.
But on 79 minute, Keoviengpheth made up for his earlier transgression when he gave Laos their second lead of the game before Vendry Mofu grabbed the all-important equaliser a minute to the end.
