AFF Holds 3rd Council Meeting

The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) held its 3rd Council Meeting for the 2022 2026 term on Sunday, 2 April 2023. The meeting, chaired by AFF President Major General Khiev Sameth, was conducted in a hybrid format, both virtually and in person, in Hanoi, Vietnam.

A key highlight of the meeting was the AFF’s recent achievement at the AFC Congress in Manama, Bahrain, where the Federation secured three seats on the FIFA Council. This milestone represents a significant step forward for the region. The Council conveyed its appreciation and gratitude for this accomplishment, attributing it to the unity and collective efforts of the Member Associations.

Looking ahead, the Council expressed confidence that this spirit of collaboration will continue to strengthen ASEAN football and contribute to the region’s ongoing development.

The Council also reviewed the Audited Financial Statements for the year 2022. It was noted that, in the opinion of the external auditors, the statements were prepared in accordance with the Federation’s regulations and the Malaysian Private Entities Reporting Standards (MPERS), and provide a true and fair view of the AFF’s financial position.

Following this review, the Council endorsed the AFF Finance Committee’s decision to approve the 2022 Audited Financial Statements.
