
BANGKOK (27 December 2025) – Thailand will be up against Indonesia in the final of the ASEAN Under-16 Boys’ Futsal Championship 2025 following the end of the semifinal matches earlier this evening at the Nonthaburi Hall in Bangkok
Thailand had to work hard for their place in the final, overcoming a resilient Malaysian side 4-3 in the penalty shootouts.
The score at the end of extra time was 4-4.
Thailand had taken the lead through Pakhphum Thiamtee in the third minute before Malaysia replied through Fitri Hakim a minute later to put the score at 1-1 at the half.
Aidil Zaquan then put Malaysia ahead for the first time in the game in the 26th minute, and Adam Rayyan extended the lead two minutes later.
With the score at 3-1 to the Malaysians, host Thailand fought back to draw the game, off goals from Monthana Jankrakang (36th) and Pakhphum (40th).
In extra time, Thanakrit Ouansri gave Thailand the lead in the 41st minute as Iqbal Hazim then forced the game into the penalty shootout with a 48th-minute finish.
In the meantime, Indonesia did not suffer too much in their semifinal clash against Vietnam when they came back from a goal down to win 7-3.
After Tran Le Bo had put Vietnam ahead after four minutes, two quick goals from Sulaiman Riski Hidayat and Haekel Ayyasy Caserio – both in the same fifth minute – gave Indonesia the 2-1 lead.
Even though Vu Dai Hoc managed to draw level for Vietnam in the seventh minute, Indonesia would end the first half 3-2 in the lead following Muhamad Dafa Erlangga’s 13th-minute strike.
Reivan Revian put Indonesia further ahead in the 25th minute as Vietnam then grabbed their third goal of the game through Pham Quang Huy eight minutes later.
With the score at 4-3, Indonesia pushed further ahead with three goals from Reivan (34th) and Guntur Rochmatdhani Pratikno’s double in the same 40th minute of play.
