
BANGKOK (27 December 2025) – Thailand will take on Indonesia in the final of the ASEAN Under-16 Boys’ Futsal Championship 2025 at the Nonthaburi Hall in Bangkok in two days.
At the end of the preliminary round-robin today, Thailand emerged at the top of the standings with ten points following their 3-3 draw against Indonesia in their final tie, as the latter finished second.
Third was Vietnam, who will play Myanmar for the classification third-placed match, after their 5-3 win over Brunei Darussalam today.
Host Thailand went into their match today against Indonesia with the full nine points from three matches, while the latter amassed seven points from the same number of games.
Indonesia were brimming with confidence and it showed when they took the lead after just five minutes through Muhamad Dafa Ramadan.
Even though Sunet Tanapob would equalise for Thailand in the seventh minute, Indonesia would finish the first half 2-1 in front when Muhamad Dafa put them ahead again in the ninth minute.
Hetson Messi Hamonangan Sirait then gave Indonesia a two-goal cushion with the third goal in the 28th minute.
However, the Thai lads did not give up when Wangsilpakhun Punno struck twice in three minutes (30th and 33rd minute) to level the game.
In the meantime, Vietnam beat Brunei Darussalam 5-3.
The score at the end of the first half was 4-1 in favor of Vietnam, thanks to goals from Phan Trung Nghia in the fourth minute, Do Dac Duc (5th), Nguyen Trung Duc (7th), and Tran Tung Lam (10th).
After Abdul Muttaqim Haji Mohammad Azmi scored for Brunei in the seventh minute, they would go into the second half stronger with two goals from Mohd. Shaqeel Qays Wafri Mohd Suhardi (32nd) and Mohd. Syahmi Wa’ie Mohd. Khirol Effendi (34th) to put the score at 4-3.
However, Vietnam’s Nguyen Nhu Hoang made sure that the game was beyond Brunei’s reach when he nailed the fifth goal in the 38th minute.
