AFF Council Commends Youth Championship Winners and Celebrates the Return of the ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup™

The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) convened its 4th Council Meeting for the 2022–2026 term on 1 October 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City, chaired by AFF President Major General Khiev Sameth.

The Council extended its heartfelt congratulations to the Football Association of Thailand for winning the AFF U19 Women’s Championship held in Indonesia and to the Vietnam Football Federation for capturing the title at the AFF U23 Championship in Thailand. The Council also expressed sincere appreciation to the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) and the Football Association of Thailand (FA Thailand) for successfully hosting both tournaments.

The meeting also marked the official celebration of the return of the ASEAN Club Championship (ACC) Shopee Cup™, Southeast Asia’s flagship inter-club tournament. Featuring 14 of the region’s top professional clubs, the competition will consist of a group stage followed by knockout rounds, culminating in a two-legged final to crown the “Kings of ASEAN Club Football.”

The ACC Shopee Cup™ reflects AFF’s strategic commitment to raising the standards of professional club football across ASEAN while enhancing commercial value, fan engagement, and the international visibility of Southeast Asian football.
