| JAKARTA (2 Sept 2009) – The Indonesia national Under-16 women’s squad begin their centralised training camp this week in Jakarta – minus eight players from West Papua.
The team is being prepared for the Asean Football Federation (AFF) U16 Women’s Championship which will be held in Myanmar on 9-18 October 2009.
And despite it being the Muslim fasting month, the team still continued with their daily training under head coach Safrudin Fabanyo at the National Training Ground in Senayan, Jakarta.
“There seems to be some problem with the flights from there. We hope that we can settle this problem by this week,“ said Papat Yunisal, the team’s assistant manager.
In the meantime, the 14 players currently undergoing training have passed the medical test which was conducted at the health laboratory of the Jakarta State University.
Out of the squad of 22 players called for centralised training, the team will be trimmed down to 18 players on 18 September 2009.
